In keeping with the Office of the Provost’s commitment to supporting faculty development and empowerment, all full-time faculty are eligible to apply for travel assistance if they are presenting original academic content at a professional conference or exhibition, performance, or other related professional venue.

Applicants may receive a travel grant of up to $1,000 if selected/accepted to present as a featured author, artist or performer.. Expenditure authorization must be completed through the Home Department prior to travel. To receive a refund, awardees must submit their expense report number to the Office of Faculty Affairs within one business day of completing their trip. Reimbursement covers the difference in actual expenses and matching funds up to $1,000.

Applicants must:

  • Receive or invite to a professional conference, exhibition or fair.
  • Appoint 100% on the tenure track, reserved or unreserved (including 100% appointed teachers and lecturers).
  • Be a master writer, artist or actor.
  • For international travel, please provide a spending authorization when applying for travel funding.

Preference will be given to those who can access matching funds from their school, college, startup or RIF accounts and have not received financial aid in the previous calendar year.

Applications are open until June 16 for travel from July 1 to December 30.
