These 2 New England family trips are ‘amazing’, according to Fodor’s Travel

Parents looking for getaways that offer unforgettable family adventures have two great options in New England, reports Fodor’s Travel.

The publication recently released its top 10 family vacations for parents looking for more than an all-inclusive kids’ club, and mentions “forest bathing in Maine” at Hidden Pond in Kennebunkport and “home group in Boston at the Hotel Commonwealth.”

“[T]”It’s great vacation memories—the kind that will turn into family history for decades to come—when you all go on an adventure together, immersing yourself in the destination you visit,” Fodor wrote.

The Japanese practice of forest bathing is an activity offered to guests in a hidden pond that involves spending time in the forest using all the senses.

Here is what Fodor wrote in part about his visit to Hidden Pond:

Certified forest therapy guide Jeanne Christie (who is also a registered Maine guide) will lead you on a two-and-a-half to three-hour hike through birch and balsam groves before ending the tour with a snack and tea ceremony. Take your bush bath in the lodge’s pool or, if it’s a Sunday, indulge in the Nighttime Glow Swim, a family-friendly pool lit up after dark.

And here’s what the publication wrote in part about the Hotel Commonwealth, the official hotel of the Boston Red Sox:
