Steve Ferguson, Pete Yonkman to speak at Ivy Tech’s Cook Entrepreneurship Institute
Bloomington – Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington welcomes Cook Group Board Chair and French Lick Resort President Pete Yonkman and Cook Group President Pete Yonkman as 12 keynote speakers.Th Annual Cook Institute for Entrepreneurship Luncheon April 19.
“We are truly honored to have world-class business leaders Steve Ferguson and Pete Yonkman join us to share their valuable insights on the Cook journey,” said Steve Bryant, executive director of the Ivy Tech Gail and Bill Cook Center. Entrepreneurship.
In addition to his role as Chairman of the Cook Group Board, Ferguson led the redevelopment and preservation of Downtown Bloomington and the historic French Lick Resort, bringing economic benefits to the area.
As president of Cook Group and Cook Medical, Yonkman is committed to adult education and workforce development. It also fosters startups by creating a culture of support for entrepreneurs.
The Cook Institute opened in 2010 to bring students and the community together on one platform to hear from entrepreneurial leaders about the importance of supporting innovation and free enterprise. Event funds support Ivy Tech’s entrepreneurship education for student scholarships and a program to serve clients through Cook Entrepreneurship.

Steve Ferguson Chairman of the Board, Cook Group and President, French Lick Resort
As Chairman of the Board of the Cook Group and President of French Lick Resort, Ferguson has been actively involved in redevelopment and historic preservation, including the rebirth of Downtown Bloomington. Ferguson led the renovation and operation of the historic French Lick Resort. He played a key role in the development of Cook Medical, a global leader in the medical device industry. Full biography
Pete Yonkman President, Cook Group and Cook Medical
Pete Yonkman is president of Cook Group and Cook Medical in Bloomington, Indiana. He has been with the company for 20 years, starting in 2001 as an in-house consultant. Pete has served Cook in a variety of roles, including leading one of its domestic manufacturing locations and serving as executive vice president for 10 business units. Pete was named president of Cook Medical in 2014 and added the role of president of the Cook Group in 2015. Full biography
