Saks Fifth Avenue Fashion Celebration for World Hospice Day

On Tuesday, July 12, Saks Fifth Avenue Chevy Chase welcomed the Hospice of the Chesapeake Foundation for a fashion celebration commemorating World Hospice and Palliative Care Day.

This was a warm gathering of influential community leaders to honor sponsors, caregivers, and health care workers who have dedicated themselves to supporting individuals and family members through the physical, emotional, and spiritual stress of end-of-life. Hospice of the Chesapeake is a non-profit organization working to create a new model of compassionate and holistic care. Their belief is that we live every day but die only in one day.

They were associated with the Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa and guests were delighted to hear the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa, Nomaindia C. Mafketo, speak about the importance of the mission from her country’s perspective and in particular. Many children are severely affected by the impact of Covid-19.

It was a prelude to the fall GLOW event, featuring dinner and an international fashion show, as well as an evening hosted by Saks Fifth Avenue and Vice President and General Manager Marguerite Stage in collaboration with GLOW Co-Chairs Gretchen Cusack. And Patricia Trudeau.
