The United Way of Grater Houston and Partnership Appscil Houston have brought together the first team of coaches from the region to provide professional training to strengthen their capacity and skills. The group is the result of discussions between the United Way of Greater Houston Human Resource Training Network and Upskil Houston leaders on how to encourage local residents and students to succeed in the rapidly changing job market. The team will continue to work with United Way and Upskil Houston to provide additional support to coaches and build a training community. Training is being provided through the Skilling America learning platform to help senior Houston coaches explore new, innovative ways and help clients find better jobs and jobs and improve their economic performance. Effective Vocational Training and Guidance is a key pillar of UpSkill Houston’s long-term strategy to help all Houston residents develop appropriate skills and connect with good jobs that increase their economic opportunities and activities. The Skiing American e-Learning Forum provides competent training on the location of trainers’ tools, technology, information and techniques for coaches to interact with peer navigators. Standardized training provides a common language and provides best practices and helps regional coaches struggle to lead their clients into the workforce system, rejuvenate them from life events and become more competent and transition to better careers. Our vision is to ensure that all agencies, regardless of size or input, provide the same quality of service throughout the region. United Way and Partnership to provide additional training for coaches is partially funded by Texas Joint Insurance.
