STARTERS
As the calendar approaches early May, the Big 12 race is heating up and Texas Tech and Kansas State are in a clash this weekend that could shake up the standings. The two teams are among five with a conference winning percentage of .500 or higher. One game separates the Red Raiders (8-7) and Wildcats (9-6) going into Friday night’s game, and both have big chances in front of them after a heavyweight fight this weekend as Tech has two straight in front of the current-No. 1 West Virginia (road) and Kansas (home), K-State current-No. 2 Oklahoma State (road) and TCU (home) ahead of them.

Following three innings of a no-run, one-hit pitcher’s duel between the two teams, ACU exploded for six runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth. The game was interrupted by a runner on second with one out. The two teams have yet to decide how the game will proceed. ACU is scheduled to visit Texas Tech on May 9 for a makeup game on April 4 when the game in Lubbock was postponed due to weather.
