University of Wisconsin Oshkosh students with a strong commitment to community development will be honored Friday as part of a business honors and awards ceremony.

Rob Kleiman has been selected by the COB Faculty and Alumni Committee to receive the 2023 UW Oshkosh Business Excellence Alumni Award. He will join 40 students, faculty and community partners who have been honored for their achievements Friday in a ceremony from 3 to 4:40 p.m. in the Reeve Memorial Union Ballroom.
Best alumni
Kleiman serves as president and CEO of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce, leading a staff of 11 with a $1.5 million budget and 905 council members. He has been involved in various professional organizations and community activities, including the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Economic Partnership and president of the Wisconsin Economic Development Association.
“I cannot think of another individual more committed to the involvement and development of our community in the Oshkosh area,” said Elizabeth Hartman, UWO’s compliance officer and COB faculty member. “Rob has dedicated his professional career to economic and community development, leading the Oshkosh Area Economic Development Corporation and now serving as CEO of the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce. I am excited to see where Rob takes his new role and our community in the future.”
Kleiman earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1987, with a minor in marketing and management information systems.

Rebecca Ashauer, senior human resources major, will receive the Chancellor’s Award for her exceptional record of leadership and service across campus and in the community.
