A favorable season is upon us. And whether you spent your summer outdoors as a hiker or skier, it’s time to embrace a more laid-back mindset. Enter the cabincore fashion trend: foggy mornings spent mushroom hunting, afternoons cozying up by the fireplace in your A-frame cabin, and candlelit nights involving glasses of red wine and steamed spaghetti. So, get out your sweaters and wool socks, it’s time to carry wood.

The last couple of years have seen a variety of top beauty products that can help you bring out your Kabincore era. You may be wearing romantic cottage-core designs complete with beautiful frills and chintz lace. Or, conversely, perhaps you prefer the practicality of Gorpikorn sports—a trend that celebrates functional gear over capital-F fashion. Cabincore is a trend that manages to combine the best of both: think, a comfortable cotton shirt with an argyle knit layered on top. Or cashmere joggers tucked over rain boots with a layered jacket for warmth. The trend hygge has achieved perfection through hybridization.

“It’s the perfect mix of feeling slightly dressed up and stylish without sacrificing comfort and functionality, which fashion can often do,” says Morgane Cesarori, founder of Paris-based brand Cézanne. When the season turns to sweater weather, we love a ‘throw it on and go’ dress that can make you look either still put together or super rich, super chunky.

This romantic comfort is not new – Taylor Swift’s 15-minute All is well The video, which was released last November, appears to be shot-by-shot, with the trend, taupe skirt, plaid flannel and red scarf all included. But, as more women continue to navigate the post-pandemic hybrid work life, escaping from anywhere to a cabin in the woods—Slack—is not only growing in appeal, it’s also practical. Comfort foods can work for both a highlight meeting and a lunchtime walk.

Christopher Bevans, creative director at Eddie Bauer, said: “After the last couple of years, no one wants to go back to wearing clothes that don’t fit or aren’t comfortable. “However, people want to feel put together again, and a cool button-down flannel shirt or a fun pop of color hair are great styles to do both.” Combining rich fall textures like cashmere and flannel with the latest Goretex gear from Patagonia, Snow Peak, or Nike brands allows the wearer to embrace a variety of low-maintenance options.

“People’s interest in the outdoors has grown over the last couple of years,” Bevans continued. Gucci’s collaborations with The North Face (debuting in 2020) and Bottega Veneta’s Fall 2022 mushroom-dotted dresses mean the designers behind the top luxury fashion brands have the great outdoors in mind. Even for those who aren’t out raking leaves this fall, mixing sporty gear with chic and romantic pieces offers a playful and balanced fall outfit.

So, before you book your dream Airbnb in the woods or plan a luxury stay at your favorite national park this fall, here are the top things to help you embrace the pipeline to hygge.
