One of the best events for the sporting world – and perhaps the summer – the 2022 ESPYS have paved the way for modern double-breasted and single-breasted clothing to lead the way at this year’s ceremony.
As sport and fashion collided for the red carpet launch, elite athletes were spotted in tailored designer ensembles, bling jewelery and subtle eye wear. Several stars wore athletic sneakers and matching outfits (which wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for an athleisure-focused event), while others chose to dress down for the special event, which “celebrates the biggest hits, performances and moments.” Year in Sports.
This year’s event featured multiple costume changes during the ceremony, with veteran NBA champion and 2022 ESP Award winner – Stephen Curry, in a stunning fashion show. Other honorees include Cooper Koop, Eileen Gu, Katie Ledecky, Klay Thompson and more.

Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry not only walked the famous red carpet, but he also led the team for the ESPYS as he served as the show’s host. To hit the carpet, the NBA champion opted for a slim single-breasted black satin dress with skinny pants. He gave a subtle nod to sophistication with a fitted white mock neck shirt, minimal jewelery and black patent leather slippers.

Jared Vanderbilt
Jared Vanderbilt wore a cool blue suit with a bare-chested diamond necklace, black oversized frames, ice watch and black patent leather shoes. The double-breasted jacket featured a contrasting black lapel with black buttons.

Nigel Sylvester
Nigel Sylvester made a bold – but classy – choice by choosing an orange leather suit. The ensemble was complete with a double-breasted and matching orange leather pants and minimal jewelry. He notes that the leather pants were on trend with side-slit wings that opened to reveal two-tone high-top sneakers.

Jalen Ramsey kept things pretty casual on the red carpet. He wears a “Miracle” logo trucker hat and a Nahmia zip front jacket with pants. The attention to detail is black for the jacket and pants, with contrasting white piping detailing on the sleeves and pant legs.

Travis Kelce looks sleek in a blue single-breasted dress. Under a crisp blazer, he opted for a white undershirt with gray graphic print detailing and finished the look with white low-top sneakers.

Evander Kane shined in a floral printed dress. The designs on the matching jacket and trousers created a sparkling effect on the teal, gray and white floral display, while he completed the look with a white mandarin collar button down shirt, diamond link chain and bracelet and silver rings.

Bryce Young’s monochromatic moment was a hit on the red carpet, as the cranberry-colored double-breasted dress matched the event’s classy and repetitive pattern. The suit jacket is a box cut with straight leg trousers on trend. The matching cranberry-colored shirt he chose complemented silver-spiked Christian Louboutin sneakers.

Iman Shumpert and Ahri Shumpert rocked the ESPYS red carpet in tailored — yet relaxed — black and white ensembles. Imman’s black jacket rests over a long white tee, while his black pants have a white torn top stitch detail on the pockets. Ahri’s blazer leans more towards the traditional side and is worn over a white convertible collar with black satin lapels. Both heels paired their look with a pair of black and white designer sneakers.

Ryan Garcia’s Midnight Blue moment delivered just the right amount on the carpet. He chose to raise the collar over his open chest when he could wear his clothes. The integrated deep navy color scheme is complimented by matching blue and white

Nick Mayhuh wears a deep 3-piece suit with Gemham. The midnight blue and black number features a stylish single-breasted jacket with matching vest and trousers, complete with a crisp white shirt, black satin tie and black velvet loafers. He added a pair of black sunglasses to complete the look.

Grady Dick gave a hint of rockstar chic on the red carpet in a square-cut double-breasted dress, paired with flared trousers. The outfit featured a contrast of true blue and sky blue windowpanes worn over a thin white t-shirt.
