Grenada, home to Port Louis Marina, managed by Camper & Nicholson Marinas, has been named ‘Yachting Destination of the Year’ by the Caribbean Travel Awards 2023.
The award also included mentions of Grenada’s two smaller islands, Carrico and Petite Martinique, while Port Louis Marina received a special mention in the judge’s review.
“Grenada has quietly become a sought-after yachting destination in recent years, providing easy access to the tri-island state (including nearby Carrico and Pete Martinique) and the islands’ wonders. The Grenadines. The moorings are here too,” the judges said.
Antigua, another leading cruise hub in the Caribbean, was named ‘Luxury Destination of the Year’. The judges said: “From helicopters bringing celebrities to beach lunches at Nobu Barbuda to Antigua’s growing portfolio of world-class resorts, this twin-island destination continues to grow as an upscale and elegant Caribbean hideaway.
The two islands boast a number of key yachting centers with quality shipping and boat repair, maintenance and service centres. Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority has been named ‘Caribbean Tourist Board of the Year’.
Additionally, St. Kitts was voted ‘Caribbean Destination of the Year’. This island includes the leading shipping port Christophe, which has developed its role as a regional shipping center.
