Danger:
The electric cable can be damaged near the cable bushing, which will lead to the cable overheating, fire and accidents. In addition, the damage of the cable near the bush can lead to exposed copper wires, which creates a shock hazard.

This recall affects dual voltage Steamfast brand home and travel steam irons with model numbers SF-717, SF-720 and SF-727 and date codes between January 2008 and March 2017, and the Brookstone Steam Travel Steam Iron model number 606335. Model numbers and production date codes are printed on the metal back. Steamfast or Brookstone are printed on white metals.
The recalled Steamfast and Brookstone irons can be identified by the length of the cable bushing. The recalled irons have a gray or black cord that extends less than an inch from the receptacle on the electrical cord.

Solution:
Consumers should stop using the recalled irons immediately and visit the Steamfast or Vornado website to register for a recall and receive a $19.99 refund.
Disadvantages/Disadvantages:
Vornado has received reports of 50 incidents, including 38 reports of metal electrical wires smoking, sparking, burning or other signs of heat and 12 reports of wire damage. No injuries were reported.

Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond and others nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Vornado.com, Steamfast.com and other online retailers from January 2009 to May 2018 and Brookstone between $13 and $30 between 2009 and 2013.
