Top 11 Texas Boutiques for Plus Size Fashion at Le Garage Sale

[ad_1]

Le Garage Sale Feels Illegal in a Big Way: Visitors to the Austin Palmer Event Center on August 27th and 28th systematically smashed this massive semi-annual boutique sale vendor-by-vendor. More than 140 of them took in some shoppers for two whole days, hawking clothes, jewelry, shoes, bags and household items. And somehow people in Austin don’t seem to know much about it.

Visitors to the first-day or VIP pre-sale get first choice, but second-day visitors enjoy incredible price advantages, with vendors beating them up and open to sales, especially in the final hours. Ticket prices are often reduced by 90 percent. Unfortunately, consumers seeking extended quantities compete for limited inventory; But it might not be as bad as you expect.

Unlike sample sales, which usually go up in size 6, this event is for boutiques to bring in their regular and oversized items. When CultureMap went to investigate, there appeared to be 41 sellers with at least one plus-size item, which we defined as plus-size or 12-plus. A few vendors carried up to 3X, and it was rare to find 2X. The list compiled by the sale includes each seller holding an extended range, although without seeing the items, this can lead to disappointment (one-size kaftans, for example).

Shoppers looking for plus sizes don’t have to come down to Sheen. Although Le Garage’s selection doesn’t include most of the fast-fashion company’s ultra-trendy designs, which are recommended for larger shoppers, the sale also features those straight-size styles. These stores may not carry all of your needs, but snagging a few great pieces from Texas vendors seems like a win.

CultureMap went to each vendor starting at 11:30 a.m. on the first day and selecting as many offerings as possible within five hours. We’ve made a note of every add-on we can find, narrowing it down to the top 10 based on availability and quality. Not only is it possible, but we’re bound to overlook some of the harder-to-find vendors or large-volume suppliers when we reach out.

Our goal was to find out which vendors are available year-round, in Texas. This list includes 11 tips for shopping online, visiting in person, or browsing during spring sales. All of these Texas businesses don’t just ask for an extended amount of cash—they bring it. So let’s go shopping.
