CASPER, Wyo. – After more than 40 years of repairing countless automobiles for Casper residents, Leo Maddox, owner of Leo’s Beverly Street Auto Repair, has decided to hang up the cranes and sell the business.
According to the release, the business’s new owners, Brett and Kia Petley, began operations on Aug. 16 and vowed to maintain the reputation Maddox has earned over the past decade.
Maddox got his start in 1982, opening in a former Texaco location on 12th Street. In the year In 1994, he expanded by purchasing the Champion Auto Shop down the street, and in 2003 moved to 1303 S. Beverly St., where the business has operated ever since.
In the release, Maddox’s former employees praised their former boss for his work ethic and quality control.
“Leo was a great mentor on what hard work and dedication can reward. He showed up every day by working harder than anyone I know,” former employee Nick Hopkins said.
“Anyone who has worked for Leo knows that they expect hard work and honest work; in return, they work equally hard and often hard,” former employee Sean Ficken said in the release. “He exemplifies to his employees what customer service should be.”
The community is encouraged to meet and greet the new owners at the store, where Papa’s Pork Chop Food Truck will be located, on Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
