Texas Tech University Health Sciences Celebrates 10 years and commencement

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — College graduation season is underway and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences of El Paso (TTUHSCEP) hosted its commencement ceremony today at the plaza theater. 

Along with the graduation ceremony the TTUHSCEP is celebrating its 10 year anniversary.

71 students got their their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degrees at today’s ceremony. 

2 ceremonies are being held today to honor graduates, the first is the commencement for graduates from the school of nursing and the commencement for the school of biomedical services. 

Stephanie L. Woods, Ph.D., R.N., gave this year’s keynote address. 

She is dean and professor at the Hunt School of Nursing and holds the Hunt Endowed Chair in Nursing.

The Francis Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences commencement ceremony will honor the accomplishments of 29 students who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their studies in the field of biomedical sciences.

Many of these students will go on to medical schools across the nation, including here in El Paso at the Foster School of Medicine. 

All but two of the students are from El Paso and surrounding communities.

The eleventh annual commencement ceremony of the Foster School of Medicine will take place on May 19.
