El Cajon, CA – This year, Sycuan will host its 30th annual Pow Wow, which will take place September 9 – 11, 2022. The event will feature a new element of the first annual Saiquan Fashion Show.
The fashion show aims to create a platform for Native American designers to showcase their creativity and passion in the field of jewelry and apparel fashion. Experienced and up-and-coming designers come from all over North America and some will offer their designs for sale after the show.
Taking place on Thursday, September 8 at 7 p.m., Native American designers include: Osamuskwasis, Ro Tree, Ashley Garcia, Disa Tatoosis, JD Customs, Designs by Della, Benjamin Leedom, Cheyleen, Yazzie, Collins Provost-Fields, Aresta Tsosie Paddock and KM Originals. , among others.
The Sycuan Pow Wow is a sacred social gathering held annually by the Kumeyaay Nation’s Sycuan Band – an event where Native Americans gather to dance, sing, socialize and celebrate culture, including a dance competition with many traditional dances. A weekend-long celebration of other Native Americans from around the world.
