Police say a homeless couple set fire to a building on South Broad Street where Pizza Bros. Southside and Gordon’s Food Services are located.

In last Wednesday’s incident, police responded to a violation at 1817 Broad.

Officers were advised that a white male entered the building through a broken window. When they arrived, police saw smoke coming from inside.

Joseph Eric Fillman, 51, and Lindsey Marie Shaw, 36, were sleeping in a large room by a small fire.

Both were previously told not to enter the building.

Both have their address at 727 E. 11th St. (Chat Foundation – formerly Community Kitchen)

Philman was arrested on Nov. 23 for allegedly stealing a motorcycle. He said he borrowed the motorcycle.

On the motorcycle was a green bag containing two grams of meth, a metal pipe, burglary paraphernalia and a receipt for stripped copper.

On that occasion, when he took off one of the pants lined up on Filman, he was diagnosed with severe leg pain. He was taken to Erlanger Hospital.
