PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women’s basketball team will compete in the inaugural Elevance Health Fort Myers Tip-Off women’s basketball tournament from Nov. 25-27 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, FL, as announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The Panthers are among four participants in the first-year Thanksgiving week tournament in Fort Myers, FL. The other three schools that Pitt will play during the tournament are Maryland, DePaul and Towson.
Pitt will open play Friday, Nov. 25 against Towson at 2:00 pm followed by DePaul Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2:00 pm and Maryland Saturday, Nov. 27 at 11:30 am. All three games for the Panthers will be available on a streaming platform to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off is the third event as part of Intersport’s series of basketball competitions held in Southwest Florida during Thanksgiving Week. What started as a four-team, four-game event in 2018 has expanded to a 12-team, 14-game celebration of men’s and women’s college basketball in 2022. After initially staging one men’s four-team early season event in 2018, the Rocket Mortgage Fort Myers Tip-Off expanded to two men’s divisions, the Beach and the Palms, in 2021, ahead of this year’s addition of the Elevance Health Fort Myers Tip-Off.

So far, there have been four non-conference games announced for the Panthers as they will play Illinois at home for the B1G/ACC Challenge and Maryland, DePaul and Towson in the Fort Myers Tip-Off.
