Video: Hair salons are making a comeback in Bucks County.
In Bucks County and throughout the US, jobs for barbers, hair stylists and others in the personal care services industry are growing rapidly.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will begin construction next week on a project to improve safety and improve travel at the intersection of Business US 1 (Lincoln Highway) and Hulmeville Avenue in Pendle.
Rod-Con, of West Chester, Chester County, is the general contractor on the $2.2 million project, which is 100% federally funded and will begin Aug. 4. Construction on the project is expected to be completed by summer. 2023.

The contractor will widen the existing intersection to add special left turn lanes; mill, pavement and intersection and approaches; Improving existing traffic signal equipment; and install new ADA curb ramps at the Business US 1 intersections at Hulmeville Avenue and Noyland Avenue.
Additional improvements include replacing the existing sidewalk north and south of Business US 1 to the intersection with Hulmeville Avenue; Adjusting the curb to improve the turning radius of the truck; and improving sewer inlets and pipes.
On Aug. 4 and Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., business US 1 drivers will experience lane closures in both directions between Glenn Avenue and Hulmeville Avenue for test pothole work as initial construction works take place.
During the construction of this improvement project, the contractor will implement full closures on Hulmeville Avenue at Business US 1 as necessary. Lane closures on the highway are used regularly even outside of peak travel times.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area as backups and delays will occur. All planned activities are weather dependent.
