Look of the week: Pedro Pascal is the ‘father’ of the internet – and he’s dressed for the part

Pedro Pascal arrived at the red carpet premiere of the third season of the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” in Los Angeles this week wearing a lime colored Gucci shirt, gray wide leg pants and a mustard sweater tied around his shoulders. The look – styled by celebrity stylist Julie Ragolia – was topped off with 70s tortoiseshell sunglasses.

Pascal’s set provided a reassuring parental vibe, turning the Chilean-American actor into a well-to-do Ivy League dad. Dedicated to both renewable energy and the GQ subscription; The calendar is jam-packed with regular parent-teacher meetings at the child’s school and days at the local natural wine bar with book club bros.

In short, fatherhood looks good on Pascal. While he may not have children of his own, the 47-year-old is still pulling hearts for his roles as bounty hunter Dean Dajarin in “The Mandalorian,” or as Joel Miller’s surly-but-smooth surrogate father in HBO’s The Post. – The apocalyptic drama “The Last of Us.” (HBO and HBO Max are also owned by CNN’s parent company, Warner Bros. These pretend-parent performances have earned Pascal the title of “daddy” in the eyes of many social media users. (The “PedroPascalDaddy” hashtag, for example, has more than 18 million views on TikTok alone.) It’s a situation Pascal welcomes with open arms. “Daddy is a state of mind, you know?” he told Vanity Fair during a 2022 interview, boldly adding, “I’m your father.” Pascal’s acknowledgment of the condition didn’t stop there. In a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight in January, he went straight into the camera. Staring, he took a step forward and said, “I’m your handsome, handsome father.”

Now, the actor is fueling the fire with a sartorial. At another red carpet event promoting “The Mandalorian” earlier this month, he wore a brown collared waffle knit shirt and red tailored pants, both from Acne Studios. In a sea of black booties, these low-key, colorful, cozy sweaters read as carefree, comfort-driven, and prove that a mature man is in complete control of elegance. For Pascal, being a father is not only a state of mind, but also a state of dress.
