In the year I feel that travel in 2023 is really on the rise! I got back to it last year, but this year I feel like my travel calendar is overflowing. I’m heading to California this week and it got me thinking about some tried and true travel accessories that I love and can’t live without. From big bargains to the perfect travel bag, today I’m featuring some of my on-the-go favorites.
Favorite travel bag
This bag remains one of my favorite travel companions. It’s lightweight, holds a ton, has a limited sleeve to carry on your luggage, is easy to clean, and has plenty of interior pockets. Seriously, they thought of everything. I bought one in Navy years ago and it continues to be a bag I carry frequently for future trips.
Excessive scarring
I’m always cold when traveling – even in summer! An oversized cashmere scarf that drapes like a blanket is a total lifesaver on any flight. Believe it or not, I still travel with the big scarf from my Nordstrom collection (see how I styled it here and here ), but I also love this one and this one !
A pair of comfortable shoes
Overdressing is my MO, but when it comes to travel, I tend to tone it down a bit. It all starts with cute shoes, a must for me when traveling. I usually wear either these loafers that you know I love, these sneakers, or a pair of Chanel ballet flats. I’m always switching but lately they’ve been my shoe of choice when I’m on the road!
Great, go with everything
I try not to take a big coat with me on a flight because it can be such a hassle (you know, unless it’s really cold upon arrival). Instead, I opt for a more functional blazer or third piece that is warm enough without being bulky. I’m still wearing this jacket (which I picked up during Nordstrom’s annual sale) but I love this jacket , this jacket , and this striped jacket !
Accessory accessories
Not *really* fashion related, but I have a few accessories that I can’t travel without. Since so many bags are getting lost, I use an air tag for peace of mind. They track my bags easily and accurately so I know exactly where they are if they are accidentally left behind by the carrier. I swear by another Apple product: the newest version of their Lightning cable. Charge your phone up to 50% in 30 minutes! My phone dies all the time and I’m not organized to carry around an external battery, so this supercharger is a game changer. Also, I never used luggage tags until someone (accidentally!) walked out with my bag in a Paris airport. Now, I make sure I have these in every one of my bags, including my carry-on, in case it has to be checked at the gate for some reason.
