Music Trade Association 2023 Bizzy Award Winners Names

The Music Business Association (MusicBiz) announced this year’s Bizzy Awards winners last night (May 17) at a special dinner at the JW Marriott Nashville at the MusicBiz 2023 conference.

The event was hosted by Noel Skaggs Fitz and the Tantrums and Nashville Drag Queen Tracy Otomi. For the second time, nominations for the association’s awards program have been crowdsourced, allowing the global music industry to recognize companies and their peers who are making a difference in improving the global industry.

The festival kicks off with a music biz pre-awards cocktail party sponsored by WMX and ADA celebrating social justice organizations working to create meaningful change for historically underserved and marginalized communities in Tennessee and beyond. Music biz president Portia Sabin They opened the party by announcing the winner of the Music Business Educator of the Year Award and honoring the Class of 2023 Music Biz Scholarship Foundation and its donors.

2023 Bizzy Award Winners:

– Leading Light Award: Sarah Robertson, A to Z Media
For a company or executive who supports their employees with internal initiatives aimed at improving mental health and well-being and work/life balance.

– Front Line Creators Award: D. Tobago Benito, DBS Sounds / FAMS Coalition
For retail stores that have demonstrated exceptional creativity and ingenuity in their interactions with consumers over the past year.

– Music Business Educator of the Year Award: Serona Elton, Frost School of Music – Univ. Miami
Honors a music business educator who inspires students to enter the music business.

– President’s Award for Outstanding Executive Achievement: Gina Miller, SVP and General Manager Nashville, MNRK Music Group

– Marketing Superstar Award: Encanto IRL Meta Reels Activation | Disney Music Group and Meta
For a creative and thought-provoking marketing campaign. Candidates can be from any industry sector, and campaigns can be physical or virtual.

– Metadata Award Master Jaxsta
For a company or executive who has made a significant impact in data processing, credit processing, streamlining, or otherwise promoting clean data and best practices.

– Impact Award for Technological Excellence: SoundExchange

– #NEXTGEN_Now one relevant award: Emilio Morales, Rimas Publishing
For an executive under the age of 40 whose work (professional and/or volunteer) has been unique, innovative and stands out as a contribution to the industry.

– Agent of Change: Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities (RAMPD)
For a company that exemplifies a commitment to diversity, equity and their hiring practices, executive development and promotion structure.
