Glenville, GA – G&R Farms, a premier Vidalia onion grower, is excited to announce the upgrade and installation of a new, high-tech grading and packaging line. The massive project has been in the works for 8 years and is expected to be fully operational by March 2023.

The new scoring tool dramatically improves packaging efficiency and product quality, making it 80% faster than existing equipment and more accurate. Facilitates accuracy in size, and offers small processing, resulting in less mechanical damage to onions. Due to the accuracy of the sizing, more uniformity can be achieved in the package sizes, and it also allows the company to send the exact customer details that they see in their selection.

“Over the years, we have seen the onion industry suffer from inconsistent quantity and quality issues in sorting and packaging. Our new line challenges almost every obstacle with improved accuracy and packaging speed. This certification allows us to process orders on demand, ensuring that we are delivering the freshest and most reliable products.” It is,” said Fabian Murillo, Ship Manager/Inventory Control Supervisor.

As inflation is still a major concern for everyone in the current and supply chain, the new improvements allow for continued competitive pricing through student efficiency and accuracy, meeting G&R Farms’ tough budget times and changing retail and consumer needs.

“As we close out 2022 with record sales, we will continue to position ourselves for success in 2023 by providing our customers with the best in service and innovation,” said Blake Dasher, CEO of G&R Farms. “Now is not the time to rest, and we have our eyes set on our next big development. At G&R we are always looking for ways to push forward and improve our processes and technology.
