French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne has announced a 1.5 billion euro ($1.5 billion) green fund for local authorities to accelerate the country’s ecological transition.
In an interview with French daily Le Parisien, the prime minister said the green fund would help local authorities “implement solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change,” Xinhua news agency reported.
Bourne said she will present an energy plan and long-term action plan on the ecosystem in the fall.
“With this plan to accelerate the ecological transition, we will work in all areas of our lives: buildings, transportation, industry, agriculture, water management,” she said.
