Doja Cat turns heads as she arrives at the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring Summer 2023 show at Paris Fashion Week on Monday (Jan. 23) covered in red jewelry and makeup.
“Doja Cat Couture @dojacat in 30 000 @swarovski crystals hand-applied @schiaparelli Haute Couture SS23 show at the Petit Palais in Paris,” the fashion house shared in an Instagram post, which also featured the rapper’s stunning ensemble. “Red silk falle bustier”, “Hand-embroidered wooden bead skirt” and “Trompe l’œil toe boots.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath took a closer look at Dojan’s glossy visage, which she revealed took four hours and 58 minutes to create. “The final product was a magical and captivating masterpiece,” McGrath wrote, praising the Grammy winner for her “patience” during the process.
The fashion show featured the likes of Naomi Campbell, Shalom Harlow and Irina Shayk strutting down the runway in dresses embroidered with oversized animal heads. Dante’s Inferno. Kylie Jenner also sat in the front row with a giant lion head attached to her black dress. (All Schiaparelli posts confirm that no animals were harmed in making any appearance.)
Doja recently received five nominations at the upcoming 2023 Grammy Awards — including Record of the Year for “Female” — as well as this year’s iHeartRadio Awards. Ironically, if her song wins the crowded field of the year, it will be the shortest way to take home the trophy in more than half a century.
Take a closer look at Schiaparelli’s jaw-dropping vision of Dojo and all the work that went into creating it.
