I’m always on the lookout for new and innovative skin care, especially products that can potentially transform my entire skin care routine. Korean skin care and cosmeceutical brand ANACIS’s Lithemis Resync Serum is a unique product that immediately grabbed my attention. After ruminating for a while about what other products to trial with the serum, I decided to review it on its own.

ANACIS focuses on creating effective skin care solutions that withstand the test of time. Instead of catering to the latest trends, its skin care products are carefully formulated and tested by dermatologists for months or years before they’re launched. The brand is best known for its Vela Contour line offering intensive skin tightening and neck firming treatments to reduce the appearance of a double chin and lift sagging skin.

What is the Lithemis Resync Serum?

According to ANACIS, Lithemis Resync Serum is an original and highly efficacious product that delivers potent effects from its high concentration of active ingredients. The multifunctional serum is easy to absorb into skin and targets specific skin concerns such as blemishes, dullness, sebum control and skin damage due to pollution. It contains small molecular weight ingredients that can penetrate into the deeper layers of the dermis to deliver intensive moisture akin to a heavyweight moisturizer.

This facial serum functions as a toner, essence, moisturizer and exfoliator in one. Its multiple skin care effects include quickly restoring dehydrated and oily skin back to health for clear skin. Suitable for all skin types, the formulation contains 74% naturally derived extracts from 24 different raw ingredients such as houttuynia cordata (heart leaf) and rehmannia root. The serum’s prominent benefits include brightening, soothing, barrier-fortifying and oil-balancing effects as well as deep hydration. Rich in antioxidants, this serum also offers anti-aging benefits to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

In detail:

Like most serums, the Lithemis Resync Serum is housed in a sturdy glass dropper bottle that is tinted to protect the content from UV exposure. I was surprised that the bottle doesn’t feel as luxurious as the cardboard packaging it came in – a classy light blue and navy blue box with a gold-colored embossed logo that gives off a premium impression in line with the brand’s ethos. In comparison to most other serum bottles I’ve used, this dropper was a little flimsy as I struggled to close the lid properly.

The serum itself comes in a clear, honey-like color with a runny consistency. At first I thought the texture would feel watery based on its runny consistency, but it spread silkily on skin and left a glowy finish reminiscent of a facial oil. When applying the serum on skin, it gave off a mild scent but nothing fragrant. It’s only when I took a whiff directly from the bottle that I noticed a strong herbal scent, which reminded me of frankincense.

My Daytime Experience

After washing my face, I usually applied a layer of toner all over my face and neck before using the Lithemis Resync Serum. My daytime skin care regimen during the trial varied depending on whether I went out or worked from home all day. If I wore makeup, my skin needed extra hydration to last me through the day, so my routine included toner, serum, moisturizer and SPF before applying foundation. If I stayed home all day, I only used a toner and the serum after cleansing. My face tended to remain soft, moisturized and glowy throughout the day, so I’m impressed by the moisturizing powers of ANACIS’s serum.

My Evening Experience

Much like my stay-in morning routine, I used the Lithemis Resync Serum after the toner step at night. Though the product claims to function as a toner, essence, moisturizer and exfoliator, I used it primarily as a serum. This is because I need to wipe away any leftover grime that may have been missed during cleansing, so a separate toner step is essential to my routine. Like applying face oils, I usually warmed two drops of serum in my palms before massaging onto my face and neck. This amount was usually enough to keep my face nourished and soft until the next morning.

The Verdict

I was initially skeptical of all the effects that Lithemis Resync Serum offers, as it sounds too good to be true. After three weeks of consistent use, I’m happy to say that it’s a pretty solid product.

Despite the multifunctional claims touted by the brand, I didn’t expect all of those effects to be apparent on my skin. It’s hard to determine whether the serum delivered on the brightening and scar-fading effects, as I was experiencing a bit of a stress and hormonal breakout at the start of my trial. Three weeks after using this serum, my breakout had significantly improved, but the pigmentation it left behind remained obvious.

Pigmentation takes time to fully fade, so I wouldn’t blame the serum for not working. On the product’s other benefits, the formula proved superior in many aspects as it kept my skin smooth and soft every day, and not once did I have a single dry patch. I was also troubled with whiteheads on my forehead for a few months, and they practically all disappeared after incorporating the Lithemis Resync Serum into my routine.
