Air India Inks with passenger service system agreement with Amadeus

Air India’s experience in better customer service has further fueled the recent signing of a booking agreement with new service provider Amadeus. The airline has been working hard to break the cycle of bureaucracy and customer neglect in general. The new booking system is expected to be one of several steps taken by AI for an improved customer experience.

Agreement signed

Air India has signed an agreement with travel technology company Amadeus in an effort to improve efficiency. According to a statement from the technology company, the carrier Amadeus’ Alta PSS (Passenger Service System) uses a combination of revenue management, revenue accounting, retail, merchandise, web, mobile and frequent flyer program management.

Air India’s previous pricing and booking process was not technologically supported. It was a manual process that influenced the service provider’s business performance in a cost-effective industry.

Long process

Last year, Air India signed a new seven-year PSS deal in March, as its deal with SITA expires in June this year. However, Saber appeared in court in June after Air India selected Amadius for the contract and accused the airline of discriminating in the election process. The court, however, upheld the AI’s decision against Amadius.

The transition to the new system began in late May, with an agreement on a mid-term roadmap to support the airline’s future transformation.

The airline said earlier that the move is expected to save $ 116 million over the next few years. Amadeus provides Air India with a state-of-the-art technology platform that allows you to place and use the platform in India and its partner network.
