NEW YORK (AP) — Hannah Waddingham wore Dolce & Gabbana high-top sneakers, while Elle Fanning wore a dress designed by Old Hollywood’s Sharon Long for her “big” performance. Sticky Los Angeles humidity.

Waddingham accessorized her white sandals from “Ted Lasso” with a lace-up strapless pink look. Fanning, with her hair in a pinned-back bob, said she wanted to celebrate creativity on her show, which earned her her first Emmy nod. Fanning’s look was black and pink with a chest embellishment.

“I’ve always been inspired by ’50s Old Hollywood glam,” says Fanning.

Sheryl Lee Ralph of “Abbott Elementary” had a fashion faux pas before she got to the Emmys.

“The designer gave my co-worker and I the same design for the same gown,” said Lisa Ann Walter Ralph as she showed Ralph what she wore to the award.

“I didn’t have a gown until five days ago, so Brandon Blackwood came up. He was in Japan and started making gowns on his Pacific flight.” said Ralph.

Ralph was gorgeous in a black velvet strapless gown with orange underneath and a thigh-high slit. She was carrying a small orange bag.

The stars all came out.

Zendaya, working with her stylist Law Roach, sported a classic black strappy corset look with a full skirt and a thick bow at the waist. It was Valentino, and she dazzled in Bulgari jewelry, a fresh, young white diamond choker centered, including a 4.45-carat center stone. She also had pockets.

Connie Britton wore a goddess gown by Monique Lhuillier in soft pink, with a cape effect at the back. Britt Lund from “Severance” wore a Venetian beaded gown in gold. The top was cut and thinly decorated straps.

“I felt like I wanted to wear an outer space. I have an appreciation for fabrics, my mom was a home economics teacher. I feel good in it,” Lard told The Associated Press.

According to People’s style and beauty director Andrea Lavinthal, pink carried the night, although many other colors graced the carpet.

“Pink seems to continue to dominate as the red carpet color of choice. There are just so many stars who gravitate to different shades of pink,” she says.

Not Rachel Brosnahan. She stepped out in a beautiful violet Pamela Rowland column gown. It was embellished with tulle and pearl floral bow appliqués from the designer’s Fall 2022 collection.

Laverne Cox and Himesh Patel helped kick off the fashion show, she in a bold black armor-esque Jean Paul Gaultier couture mini and he eschewed the usual evening black in a white print tuxedo jacket. Royal blue by Sarah Thompson (author of “Yellow Jackets”), marigold yellow and more – color took over the night.

“I’m so hot, I’m wearing a three piece suit. I like this outfit, but I wasn’t expecting the heat,” Patel said.

Natasha Rothwell opted for a red “White Lotus” dress with balloon short sleeves and hot merch with fashion rugs – pockets! It was custom silk taffeta from Safiya. Megan Stunter went red in a slim dress that complimented her curves. Jane Tulloch of “Severance” was in the red zone, wearing a thigh-high slit and structured sleeveless number by Thierry Mugler, complete with dangling pearl earrings.

“I’m a fan of his line. It’s elegant but still has a sense of humor,” Tulloch said.

Stater, from “Hacks, was in burnt velvet by Norma Kamali. A faux red rose was pinned between her breasts.

“He took my breath away and my words. It is a kind of sexist dress. He’s wild like me,” she said.

Jung Ho-yeon, Z’s girl and Louis Vuitton ambassador wears a versatile, multi-colored silhouette from the “Squid Game” brand. It was customized in tweed design with all-around sequins. Her jewelry was also Vuitton.

“I still can’t believe it. “I’m not in yet, but I’m going to enjoy the day and love the moment,” she said of her candidacy.

Reese Witherspoon went bling in blue sequins and sunglasses. Around her neck was an aquamarine, blue zircon and diamond choker from Tiffany & Co. Amanda Seyfried, a body hugger from Armani Privé paired with Cartier drop diamond earrings in platinum.

“I’m a mermaid tonight,” Seyfried said.

Another refreshing surprise for Lavinthal? People including Nicholas Brown from “Success” ditched black for all-white tuxedos in a double-breasted tux from Christian Dior. Andrew Garfield went white with Seth Rogan. Speaking of white, Jean Smart also decided on a gorgeous off-the-shoulder neckline. Ellie Saab designed Kerry Washington’s short sleeveless dress over a long skirt and a riot of organ flowers on one shoulder.

Washington’s black ribbons scratched their heads. Likewise, Kaley Cuoco’s high-low Dolce & Gabbana jumpsuit style and Julia Garner’s Gucci belly button crossbody in dark brown velvet featured silver crystals.

I thought we’d say any cut on the red carpet, there’s something new about the Belibtonton cut.

Among the Lavindal highlights is Lily James in copper Versace.

“In the year It was very 2022, but it could have come off a ’90s runway with chainmail and sculpted cups,” she said.

The smart dress was made by Christian Siriano, just like Laura Linney’s white look.

Also, Robin wore Ted Siriano in a stunning pastel blue and Jerrod Carmichael in a long white fox fur coat. Carmichael laughed at the heat and humidity.

“This was Puff Daddy’s coat. He wore it in a video, “Saturday Night Live” comedy.

Carmichael was shirtless and wore a sunburst platinum necklace. His black satin pants were accented with a white underwear top. There was no sock in the black bread.

Another Siriano fan? Melanie Lynskey from “Yellow Jackets. Hers was mint green, making her feel “half princess and half badass (expletive).” She said of the designer: “He is the sweetest person alive and I respect him. I feel like it’s done something for my body.”

Harper’s Bazaar fashion news director Rachel Tashjian sees a different trend.

“This year’s red carpet highlights at the recent Venice Film Festival showed a shift in celebrity style: the craziest, loudest clothes are no longer the best. Instead, stars are gravitating toward real elegance, even classism,” she said.

She points to Zendaya, who often takes her in danger.

“Here she was in a very traditional sweeping strapless Valentino gown and her hair in a chic late 1950s socialite hat,” Tashjian said.

Likewise, Fanning wore a “very classic 1950s-ish couture dress with an old-school coiffure.” She said.

Another highlight was Issa Ra in a fitted and stylish Sergio Hudson runway show on Sunday. But her absolute favorite was Lizzo in a “gorgeous red Giambattista Valli gown — a refined, elegant statement that compliments the statement.”

Other notables include Ariana DeBose in Atelier Prabal Gurung. It was a hand-embroidered lilac silk chiffon cape.

Coleman Domingo of “Euphoria” was already the winner when he walked the mat. He won an Emmy Award for Guest Actor in a Drama Series at the previous Creative Arts Awards.

“I was celebrating all week until I needed to wake up and take two ibuprofen,” he said.

Domingo wore a gold brocade open jacket and matching pants.

“I want to feel like a king,” he said.

Domingo carried a platinum battery-powered fan to ward off the oppressive humidity unusual for Los Angeles.

Mark Indelicato was in the Red Club. Indelicato’s hair was bright red and his black tux sported a long split tail like a train. And many men? “Ted Lasso’s” Phil Dunster went for a burgundy tux with black lapels, though his Lasso co-star Brett Goldstein stuck with black.

Emily Heller, on the other hand, went in a different direction. She had a “Kick Me” sign on the back of her short floral dress, and a bit of toilet paper stuck to one shoe.
