McGuire talks Texas Tech’s second scrimmage, QB competition, offensive line, kicking game

Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire Jones met with the local media in the bowels of AT&T Stadium on Saturday afternoon following the team’s second start of fall camp. They were also on hand to participate in a Q&A session at Red Raiders. The following are notes and quotes from McGuire’s speech:

• Texas Tech comes out of the second fall camp mostly injury free. Receiver Jordan Brown sprained his ankle Saturday, but it’s not expected to be serious.
• McGuire did not name the quarterback Saturday, but said he will start by Sunday or Monday. He added that no matter who starts the opener against Murray State, which is now just two weeks away. Tyler Shaw, Donovan Smith And Beren Morton They all play in the game.
