You run the business, we handle the technology.

Small to medium businesses don’t have the time and, in some cases, the technical expertise in-house to constantly monitor and improve their networking practices.

As part of our Telstra Business Intelligence study, we surveyed 1000 Small and Medium Business (SMB) employees and 450 businesses with fewer than 100 employees to understand how they are using digital technology in 2021.

The key takeaway from this study was that SMBs were falling behind on the digital adoption curve and the main reason for this was simple: lack of time and proper knowledge.

More than half of the small business workers we surveyed said they wanted more support from vendors to help them use technology more effectively. This was coupled with some industry insights:

  • 39% said they need more skills and training to keep up with technology*
  • 24% say the main barrier to digital devices is their time**; And
  • 28% said they don’t have the technology or roadmap to go digital.***.

Keeping systems and applications running at their best is a special skill these days, and requires continuous monitoring and optimization.

This is something Telstra has some serious skills and experience with, gained from managing networks of all shapes and sizes, some of Australia’s largest companies and government agencies.

We are now offering new managed services to small and medium businesses at Telstra Business Technology Centres.

Introducing Network Device Management

Network Device Management (NDM) is our new managed service designed to help businesses increase productivity, achieve cost savings and gain greater control and visibility into their network device performance.

NDM provides a service desk team that acts as a member of your team, with the ongoing task of monitoring your network configuration, optimizing performance and providing real-time automated alerts. This means they will answer the phone or text you during service hours with active help desk insight and advice.

How network device management works for your business

A dedicated team member will work with you to build your network for your needs, then take care of administration, reporting and support.

The services that NDM is currently providing are:

  • preparation – Remote management setup, monitoring and warning system configuration and testing.

  • Active service desk – We will file service defects for you, and you will have unlimited questions.
