A mother and daughter from York are opening a new store following the success of their online women’s fashion business.

Christine Milner and her daughter Beverly Milner started from Acomb My miles Online 18 months ago to encourage women to step out of their comfort zone and “feel great” after being locked up.

On Thursday, March 30, they will be opening their first Millet store at 147b, Bishopthorpe Road.

The ladies have been busy renovating and decorating the shop over the past few weeks to transform the former Tower Vets into a women’s fashion boutique, as well as taking online orders.

Christine, who has worked in fashion merchandising and retail for over 20 years, says: “People have been looking out the window to see what we’re going to be! We had to put it down on paper. To try to keep the windows as amazing!

“We absolutely love the store and the location! It’s beautiful, not fussy, and very calm and homely, and easy to walk around and see everything. It also has free parking.

We open with our little keys, so they’re gone after you leave the store, but we’ll add more pieces as we go, the more popular we’ll be. street”

Over the past 18 months, the women have set up Miloche at pop-up events across the country, and feedback from customers at these events is what inspired them to open the shop.

Christine said: “The pop-up shops have gone really well, so we were planning to open the shop.

“We met so many lovely people at the pop-up shops. And everyone we meet asks if we have a physical store, so we listen to our customers.

“People want to see a face after Vivid, they like the personal service and the good conversation.

“They like to browse the store and touch and feel the clothes and see how they look on their body.

“People like to go into a store and buy something to make themselves feel good.

“Now we have the best of both worlds, I love the online stuff and now we have the store.”

The store’s opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30am to 4.30pm and later open until 6.30pm on Thursday.
