Wedding fashion trends that are no longer cool in 2022

So what’s not on trend for weddings? According to wedding stylist Annie Choi, who talks about who’s wearing what and what trends are up and coming, a lot of things look less cool than you think. Perhaps surprisingly, Choi notes that many brides are abandoning the tradition of matching bridesmaid dresses and opting instead for a similar color scheme. Choi shared that since everyone has a different body type, brides feel better when they can choose the shape and style of their dress. She explained that most brides now prefer more general themes when it comes to bridesmaids, such as “shades of blue” or “spring flowers”. In this way, everyone’s individuality can shine through.

Another trend that won’t make it to 2023 involves wedding shoes – especially brides wearing high stilettos on their wedding day. As Choi puts it, this doesn’t mean you have to give up heels entirely. This means that many brides are opting for platforms or other variations of heels so that they can fully enjoy their wedding day. Vogue adds that all-white is definitely on the way out, while muted shades are losing popularity in favor of bolder choices. Many wedding experts also say that couples planning a wedding want a bright and colorful theme that reflects the theme of the celebration.
