According to Crunchbase’s numbers, Black founders’ funding decreased year-over-year from Q1 2022, when Black founders spent 1.5% — or $1.26 billion — of the $81 billion allocated to private funds.

This is a 75.2% reduction in funding.

It’s not all bad news, though: although funding declined in the first half of 2022, it increased from $191 million in Q3 to $279 million in Q4.
