With the increasing number of entrepreneurs opening their own businesses, Aisha Childers saw the need to open a place to learn, develop, create and grow, not just to “hit”.

Located at 30480 Lakeshore Blvd. At Willowick, Create-A-Space is a co-working and social space offering both physical and virtual services for small and medium-sized companies. The business has recently launched and will officially open to the public on April 6.

During the launch, people were able to visit the site, create content and sign up for business offers.

“It makes me feel good because I love serving people,” Childers said. “It gives me the ability to work with my gift and thrive. If you’re worried about starting a business and don’t know where to start, this is the place to be.”

At first, Childers set out to find a place for her nursery. She wasn’t initially sold on the Lakeshore Boulevard location.

“The person who contacted me had the same name as my son,” Childers said. “I came to check with my sister and she said: Go. This is a place next to Starbucks, great location, the water is across the street.’ I said let’s do it. I’m all about building people up and being able to give them space. We have a restaurant, tequila and champagne bar. A good hit is good, but I’d rather give it where we can learn, grow and develop.”

Create-A-Space amenities include a private office, podcast studio, virtual kitchen and on-site restaurant, photography and music studio, and event space.

“When you come in, you have an open workspace, so people can come in, collaborate, connect and talk to each other,” Childers. We provide free wifi, printer, fax machine and office supplies. In addition, our restaurant has a breakfast area and in the evenings we allow emerging kitchens who are trying to open their own restaurants to get their feet wet.

The production studio at Create-A-Space can be used to create content and also as a dance studio.

“We have a dance class in here and (the instructor’s) a former Cavalier girl,” Allen Childers said. “Then we have the music studio. We have two engineers who do the engineering for the studio, and then we have our podcast studio.

A self-contained, podcast studio can be used for live podcasts. The business conference room is used for private meetings or where panels and seminars can be held.

“This is the perfect place to find that exposure, learn and create,” Childers said. “A lot of people use social media, but having the right person on your team to help you create that — there’s someone behind the scenes. If you have a restaurant, you should get a picture of you cooking. So if anyone is trying to build a business, this is the place for them so they can take their business to the next level through web development, social media and the like.

Create-A-Space is open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday, Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Childers encourages people interested in using the space to stop by and visit the website. createaspacecle.com, to view memberships.

“We have a standard membership or you can get one of the premium or private memberships,” she said. “With a private membership, you will meet with me for a one-on-one consultation.

“I teach about funding and how to set it up properly, and then I connect people,” she added. “Let’s say you want to open a boutique, I’ll give you various tools and resources to help you build your business plan, and we’ll connect you with a CPA who can help you with your accounting, check your finances. To help you in order and find a distributor. Then you jump into that Content Studio so you can create content for your website.

“I have a website developer and a brand strategist, so I have a network of people to come together to build and sustain businesses.”
