Topgolf is ready to go live on a technology-enabled golf facility south of Seattle, with plans to open Friday in Renton, Wash.
The sports and entertainment company’s 78th location is the first in Washington state and will feature three levels and 102 open-air hitting areas. Topgolf is also introducing Toptraser, a high-tech driving experience that allows golfers to play games like “Angry Birds” and “Jewel Jam.”
Along with a mix of food, drink and music, the venue will also feature an indoor swing suite powered by Full Swing technology for playing golf and other sports.
“Bringing our technology-enabled golf experience to players in the greater Seattle area, where technology is at the center of everything, is something we’ve been waiting for for years,” Topgolf COO Jennifer Gray said in a news release.
Topgolf is unveiling the company’s first skylight central atrium architectural design in the Renton area. With seating, backyard games and a giant video wall, the atrium creates a hangout space that connects the gaming experience to the courtyard, bars and rooftop terraces.
Topgolf Renton-Seattle, which will debut in August 2021, is located off Logan Avenue near the Boeing factory and The Landing, a sprawling shopping and dining development that opened in 2007.
The company first entered the Seattle area in January 2020 with the first “Lounge by Topgolf” concept, an indoor facility that combines virtual sports with food and beverage offerings. The 9,200-square-foot lounge is located on the second floor of Kirkland City, a 1.2 million-square-foot mixed-use development east of Seattle in Kirkland, Wash. Google bought the site in September 2019.
Topgolf said it will employ about 500 associates at the Renton facility.
