Hockey
No. 13 Michigan Tech split with St. Thomas at McInnes Alumni Ice Arena. The Huskies shut out the Tommies 2-0 Friday thanks to Blake Pietila’s fifth national lead of the season. UST won 3-2 on Saturday. Parker Saretsky, Tristan Ashbrook, Levi Stauber and Evan Orr scored on the weekend. Tech is 15-7-3 overall and 8-5-3 in the CCHA and travels to Ferris State this weekend.

Women’s basketball
Ellie Mackay scored 19 points and Sarah Dax posted her first double-double of the season as Michigan Tech cruised to its 12th straight victory over Northern Michigan, 69-56, on Saturday at the Berry Event Center. The Huskies are 14-3 overall and 6-1 in the GLIAC and host Davenport on Thursday and No. 4 Grand Valley State on Saturday at SDC Gym.

Men’s basketball
The Huskies split a pair of games last week. Tech wrapped up non-conference play as SDC on Wednesday with a 103-35 win over Finland. Seven Huskies hit double figures. Tech fell 90-65 to Northern Michigan on Saturday afternoon at the Berry Events Center. Dan Geretzger led three Huskies in double figures with 14 points. Tech hosts Davenport on Thursday and Grand Valley State on Saturday.

Nordic skiing
The Michigan Tech Nordic ski teams placed second in the CCAA combined team standings at the Seely Hills Super Tour/CCSA Invitational in Cable, Wisconsin. Skylar Patton (3rd) and Colin Freed (5th) had top 5 finishes in the 32km Classic. Olivia Lavigne led the ladies in 12th place overall. The Huskies have this week off before returning to Duluth on the first weekend of February for the second time this season.
