book nest
In November, the Book Hut, 531 20th St., announced on its Facebook page that it would close at the end of the year. But the community wasn’t ready to let their favorite bookstore go, so a GoFundMe was launched to keep it afloat.
However, although community funds helped them settle some bills, they were unable to keep the business open. The Book Hut will close Sunday, Jan. 1, and relocate itself to Michigan Center, owner Nancy Oakley said.
This new space will not be a bookshelf, but a vendor space, with a small book section. This is called the treasury.

Later on Facebook, the Davis family announced they had regained ownership of the steakhouse building, but it was once again being sold to new owners.
Lucero’s Bar & Grill has announced it will move into the old building for a second location.
