As summer heats up in the Northern Hemisphere, millions of people are going on vacation, and Europe is the last summer resort.
Almost all the countries on the continent have eliminated all entry requirements to visit, however, there are a few stubborn nations that have not yet abolished the laws. There are currently only 5 countries in Europe that have travel restrictions. The most recent EU member state lifted all restrictions on entry on July 1, Portugal.
Spain, France, the Netherlands, Malta, and Luxembourg are the only countries in Europe with limited travel restrictions.

1. Malta
Effective June 6, 2022, People aged 12 and over are allowed to travel to Malta without discrimination. one From the 3 documents listed below:
- Vaccine Verification.
- Proof of recovery.
- Test certificate. A negative PCR test result or no negative rapid antigen test was detected no later than 24 hours after delivery.
Where to go instead? Cyprus.
Cyprus takes less than 3 hours to fly from Malta and if you travel to Malta you will not only get the same island benefits but you do not have to worry about any entry restrictions.
Cyprus lifted all entry restrictions in June. Travelers will no longer have to worry about getting tested, vaccinated or anything else.
2. The Netherlands
If you are a US citizen traveling to the Netherlands from the United States, you will need to show the following:

Located just 130 miles from the Netherlands, Belgium is a wonderful destination for anyone who loves the same canals of love and charm. Instead of showing any entry documents, Belgium decided to lift all the entry requirements.

3. France
Travelers wishing to travel to France must show the following:
- Vaccine Verification.
- If not vaccinated, travelers will be required to submit a negative test to enter France instead. (48-hour antigen or 72-hour PCR)
- Fill out the EU-PLF form.
Where to go instead? Italy.
Travelers can skip the French Rivéra this summer and avoid a few hundred miles southeast of the famous wine country of Tuscany, Italy.
Explore car rental and the vast countryside in Florence with hundreds of wineries, hundreds of years old. Stay away from crowds and join the Italian desert.
You will still find the good weather you can find in France, and the traditional food will be the same and very beautiful.
4. Spain
Current entry requirements for Spain:
All Americans, including those who have not been vaccinated, are allowed to travel to Spain. However, there are different entry requirements depending on your immunization status.
Americans over 12 years of age
- Show vaccine confirmation, or rehabilitation confirmation, or negative PCR or RAT test.
- US citizens traveling from the United States to Spain must provide a QR code created by the Spanish Travel Health Portal, the website, or the SpTH application upon arrival in Spain.
Immunized Americans
If you are not fully vaccinated, you can enter Spain by submitting. one From the following documents:
- Documents proving that you have had a PCR test within 72 hours of departure or that you have had a rapid antigen test within 24 hours.
- Evidence of recovery from Covd-19 in the last 6 months.
Unvaccinated Americans must complete a QR code before traveling to Spain, which can be obtained through the Spanish Travel Health Portal.
Where to go instead? Portugal.
Portugal has given up all its entry requirements and is the perfect option for Spain. Neighboring is cheaper than Spain but offers an amazing amount of things, sights and drinks.
Skip Malorkan, Ibiza and Barcelona, explore the islands of Portugal, the island of Fáli, the island of Santa Maria or disappear in the Portuguese capital Lisbon.
You can do whatever you can in Spain in Portugal.
5. Luxembourg
Luxembourg, one of the smallest countries in the world, is smaller than Rhode Island. It is still one of the few countries in Europe with few entry requirements.
- Show vaccination confirmation.
- Fill out the Passport Application Form before you arrive.
- If you have not been fully vaccinated, you will need to show proof of a negative PCR test (no more than 48 hours before entering) or a rapid side flow test (no more than 24 hours before entering) when you enter Luxembourg.
- If you have not been fully vaccinated but have had a positive test for Covide-19 last year, you can enter Luxembourg. You will need to show a recovery certificate.
Where to go instead? Germany.
Germany is Luxembourg’s neighbor.
