The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service says a cold front that is expected to bring snow to the area this weekend could have an impact.

The agency posted this statement on its website.

Here’s a look at the weather around southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle for the rest of the week into the new year. Very nice Thursday and Friday, windy though. Southeast Wyoming could see gusty winds Thursday night into Friday in wind-prone areas, which could affect the travel of light semi-trucks and high-profile vehicles. Changes coming this weekend as a cold front moves in from the west and southwest. A cold front will move into areas west of us (Rawlins/Laramie) Saturday afternoon, with snow developing behind it. Snow will spread in the east Saturday night, which could affect some people’s New Year’s Eve plans. Fairly widespread snow for New Year’s Day through Monday, before the snow ends Monday night. Keep an eye on this weekend’s forecast as some guides show significant snow accumulations. Stay tuned!
