FY’23 Grants Total $140K to Help Vermont Working Lands Service Providers and Producer Associations
Vermont Business Magazine Fiscal Year 2023 First Round of Workland Enterprise Applications Launching! The Workland Enterprise Board (WLEB) is releasing two Requests for Applications (RFAs) totaling $140,000 that will enable Vermont’s Workland Service Providers and Producers Associations to invest in projects focused on management and leadership and build workforce development and executive business skills. Please read the RFAs (links below) to learn about the application process and review application requests. The application submission period begins on August 12. The deadline for submission of applications is September 23.
- Manufacturer’s association gifts: AWard Amount $10,000 – $20,000 | Total up to 65,000 dollars
Vermont-based nonprofit producer association groups that represent and promote Vermont’s agricultural, food, beverage, forestry or fiber products. Applications To review the Producer Association Development Grant request, click here: FY23 Working Lands Producer Association Grants.
- Service provider gifts: AWard Amount $10,000 – $20,000 | Total up to 75,000 dollars
Service provider grant projects include providing direct and indirect services to grow Vermont-based land-based businesses through business assistance such as marketing plans, business and financial planning, and business transitions and successions. Key Dates and Deadlines:
· July 29, 2022: Request for Applications (RFA) released
· August 12, 2022: Applications open.
· September 23, 2022: application limit
· End of October 2022: Applicants are notified of funding decisions
· November 2022: The recipient document should be completed.
· December 2022/January 2023: Estimated Project Start Date

The Working Lands Enterprise Initiative (WLEI) and Governing Board (WLEB) were created by the Legislature in 2012 to encourage economic development in the agriculture and forestry sectors. WLEI is a collaborative effort between the Agriculture, Food and Markets Agency, the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation and the Business and Community Development Agency.
About the Lands Enterprise Initiative – The mission of the Worker Land Enterprise Initiative is to enhance Vermont’s work landscape economy, cultures and communities. The Working Lands Enterprise Board (WLEB) accomplishes this by making necessary, proactive investments in critical consumption points of Vermont’s agricultural and forestry economy and by facilitating policy development to facilitate the agricultural and forestry use of Vermont’s lands.
