The Traveling Art Pub combines art education with business partnerships

It’s what some people call an art studio on the go.

Traveling Art Pub has been expanding from central Minnesota to the Northwest for 10 years, supporting not only local artists but also other small businesses.

From International Falls to central Minnesota, the Traveling Art Pub is here, there and everywhere. With the goal of bringing people and businesses together, the Traveling Art Pub combines art education and community connections. One such gathering was held last week at Wine Down Wine Bar in Walker.

“I sit in front of people. I paint with them. I tell them exactly what I’m doing,” explains Amanda Davenport, creative director with Traveling Art Pub. “Draw with me. Sometimes the results are very close to me, sometimes they do their own thing. “

Traveling Art Pub has studios in Bemidji and Walker. In cooperation with local stores, business is offered not only to them, but also to their partners.

“In the year We’ve been hosting Traveling Art Pub since we opened in 2019,” said Wine Down Event Coordinator Serena Walters.

The Traveling Art Pub will be holding events at the Wine Down Nisswa location and will also be at the new Crosslake location.

As attendees walk away with their creations, creative guides and business owners will experience each art bar experience.

“When I started this position, I never thought I wanted to be a teacher,” Davenport said. “You’ve got people coming to these all the time, but newbies coming in and being blown away by what they’ve done. It’s probably my favorite.”
