New York (Czech), and now London (Czech) — we’re officially halfway through Fashion Month. As the fashion collection hits Milan, we wanted to take a moment to dish about some of our favorite collections from LFW. Of the Big Four (New York, London, Milan and Paris), London is known for its unique, artistic style of design. From the baroque romanticism of Simon Rocha and the sophisticated sensuality of Nancy Dojaka to the fantasy of Molly Goddard Tull, London Fashion Week has a little something for everyone.
Ahead, join the ESSENCE fashion team as they discuss their favorite looks and collections from London Fashion Week Spring / Winter 23.

JW Anderson – JW Anderson’s silly fishbowl dress was my favorite look from LFW. It’s hilarious, amazing and I can’t wait to see which celebrity wears it on the red carpet.

JW Anderson – The world is a better place with JW Anderson. There is always a touch of a smile – avant-garde, a real approach to design. As with any JW Anderson collection, it’s a glimpse into the fascinating emporium that is his brain. This is what attracts designers; I love seeing a collection and automatically feeling like a part of their world. This SS23 collection was a take on this man v machine. This particular look, look 17, is a hooded top made from old computer keys, which looks weird but is wearable. I can easily see this top paired with baggy cargo pants and heels, and it’s a street style look, or with a sequin maxi dress, and it’s evening.

Richard Quinn — For Richard Quinn’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, the beloved British designer dedicated his collection to Queen Elizabeth II. After hearing the news of the Queen’s death, Quinn and the team created the first 22 looks of the collection in 10 days. The collection is clearly a work of carefully crafted craftsmanship – it showcases a beautiful and dark romance and highlights the beauty of royalty.

Masha Popova – In general, I find the new ways designers are approaching denim these days to be amazing. Especially Masha Popova, who debuted this season at London Fashion Week with a collection full of experimental denim looks. An interesting wash and unexpected texture is a great way to play with the fabric, which the brand does well with this long top and matching dress. The collection is sure to turn heads and spark conversation in any room, and feels just as fitting for spring as it does for fall.
