There are always a few days in the summer when it feels like you can’t get out the door without breaking a sweat in an instant. Some years have hotter days than others, but luckily, there are some amazing technologies that can make your home even more of a beautiful paradise.

Most of these items are intended for use in your home, such as a portable air conditioner or a cooling mattress topper. But it’s impossible to stay indoors all summer, so we’ve included some cute things to keep with you when you’re out and about, like a water bottle to hydrate you both and a nice mist to spray on your face.

For rooms that don’t seem cool: Portable AC

Unless you’re very lucky, most people in the US have a working air conditioning unit in their home. Sometimes trying to cool a large house or apartment with a poor system is useless and very expensive. If you have a small apartment or spend most of your time in one room of your home, consider running a portable air conditioner.

This Black+Decker solid unit is one of the best portable air conditioners out there because it’s reliable, easy to use, and cools your room down to 64 degrees Fahrenheit. This particular model is rated at 12000 BTU ASHRAE (or 5950 BTU DOE), but Black + Decker has other options with different power ratings as well as heating options with refrigeration included.

It cools up to 300 square feet of space, so whether you’re in a dorm room, a small apartment, a camping cabin, or a one-bedroom in a house, Black+Decker’s portable AC unit will get the job done. The unit works as an AC, fan and dehumidifier, so your space stays cool and clean. And although you can use the touch controls and the LED display on it, there is also a remote control, so you can stay in bed or on the couch while you lower the temperature.

In addition to being easy to use, it has wheels so it’s easy to install (and move). It’s 60 pounds, but once you set it up, you can roll it from room to room. You just need to find a place near a socket to attach the included hose and window adapter. Maintenance is also extremely easy. Simply slide the filter twice a month, rinse it under running water and put it back.

Always drink cold drinks

It’s not the worst thing to have a nice frozen soda pop into your fridge, only to realize it isn’t. But it’s even worse when it happens in summer when you want that iced drink to keep you cool.

The instant beverage cooler from HyperChiller is the solution you’ve been looking for. While other beverage coolers use synthetic gels with chemicals, this one works with just water, meaning it’s completely dishwasher safe. Fill it with water, stick it in the refrigerator and then take it to use when you want a cold drink.

You can use this for iced tea, wine, alcohol, juice, or a summer favorite: iced coffee. Brew your coffee as usual and pour it in while it’s still hot, swirl it around for a minute, then pour the chilled coffee over ice for the perfect drink.

Or, if beer is your drink of choice this summer, check out Corkcicle’s Chilsner, a beer cooler stick. Refrigerate the chilesner for 45 minutes before using, take a beer shaker to set it in place, and then press it all the way in to create a tight seal. Then you can drink in it and drink chilled beer immediately.

If you’re too hot on a normal night of the year, I’m sure it’ll be more of a struggle in the summer. It’s not affordable to crank the AC all night just so you can get a comfortable night’s rest, so try investing in a cooling mattress instead.

This mattress pad is made of 100% organic cotton on the outside and has a medical grade soft silicone tube system inside. There are no wires inside, so you don’t have to worry about shocks or fire hazards while you sleep.

Instead, it uses chilled water circulation to keep you cool. The water can be 7 to 12 degrees Fahrenheit below room temperature. Attached to the top of the mattress is a removable filter on the back of the machine, which helps clean your room for a better night’s sleep.

It’s much easier to stay cool indoors than outdoors. You’re more active, and even if you end up in AC spaces like the grocery store or your car, you’ll still feel some warmth. So carry a small hand fan with you.

At three inches wide, one inch thick and under seven inches tall, this tiny fan is slightly larger than most popular smartphones. If it is deep, you can easily put it in your bag, purse or pocket. Or you can hang it around your neck with the included lanyard.

There are two wind speeds, high and low. And it’s built with a copper-plated motor that supports multiple rotations per second and generates enough wind to keep you cool. Additionally, it can charge via the micro USB to USB-A cable included with your purchase. So if you’re charging and your power goes out in the summer, you’ve got at least a little respite with this little fan.

This Govee Modern Tower Fan might be my favorite item on this list. A fan you can turn on while you’re dying of heat in bed or on the floor? yes please! You can use voice commands with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, or download the Govee Home app (Android/iOS) and take control from there.

There are eight speeds and three presets to choose from: Normal, Sleep and Nature. In normal mode, you get the most powerful cooling. In sleep mode, the fan is very quiet (as low as 38 dB) but still provides enough air circulation to keep you cool at night. And Nature mode simulates natural wind to help you feel relaxed. Or, you can create your own custom mode within the app.

The fan swing angle is 75 degrees and the maximum wind speed is 20 feet per second. Using the app, you can set timers, create a custom schedule for the fan, and connect it to a Govee Thermo-Hygrometer (purchased separately) to enable automatic mode. The room.

Keeping hydrated is important all year round, but especially in the summer. Dehydration is very easy and you will realize that you need water if you have a severe headache. If you carry one of the O2COOL water bottles, however, you’ll have a constant reminder to drink more water.

O2COOL has several water bottle designs to choose from, and they are all built with the same amazing features. Each bottle mouthpiece has a silicone cap to prevent spillage and keep it clean and protected, which is especially useful for hiking or exercising. Then, each bottle has a double-walled insulation design that helps keep your drink colder for longer and prevents it from accumulating outside.

However, the best feature of O2COOL water bottles is the mist feature. A squeeze trigger on the top of each bottle creates a fine mist using the water in your bottle. Whether you’re exercising or going to a concert on a hot day, being able to shower yourself with cold water is a lifesaver. Additionally, a built-in lock prevents you from accidentally triggering the fog feature.

Most people want cold foods and drinks when it’s hot outside. A refreshing smoothie, a big frozen yogurt or an ice cream cone piled high with different flavors are things that make more sense in summer.

Instead of going out whenever you want, you can make cold treats at home with Cuisinart’s Ice Cream Maker. If you like to meet people in the summer or have children, this device will be very popular. It’s a complete self-service ice cream station packed into one appliance.

Double-walled 1.5-quart freezer bowl with cooling liquid inside for quick cooling. This bowl is placed in the refrigerator for 16 to 24 hours before making the frozen treat. When ready, drop your mixture in and wait for it to come to the right consistency. You can even see the process through a small window on the side.

Then, you can store ice cones (flat or pointed) in front, near the place where the ice cream is distributed. And the best feature? A piece of spice. There are three conditioning containers, one that holds small mixes like sprinkles and two that hold larger mixes like mini chocolate chips or M&Ms. These containers correspond to three distribution levers. You can mix your spices at any time during the process.
