Fashion innovator Shawto said he has received $ 1.6 million in funding from Sama Capital. Whiteboard Capital, Google Veteran and former search engineer Amit Singal, Arjun Vidia, founder, Dr. Vidiyas and 25 direct D2C founding angels contributed to the fund.

Shuto was founded by former Mintara, Ajio and Amazon executives Maruti Ramgandi, Abishek Handa and Ayapan Lakshman, respectively.

The show aims to be a venue for Jens-Z’s fashion breakthrough in Level 1 cities.

“D2C brands disruptions or high explosions are very confusing for consumers,” Ramangdi told ET. “You have five big markets, there are 63-65 fashion brands, 40 of which are funded. Whatever fashion questions or needs you have, you will have options. There is a lot of clutter in the discovery platform.

He said the availability of fashion for young Indians is more difficult than thousands of years or more than the older generation.

“What categories do you want? These are mostly new-age categories – street, athletic, plus-size, sustainable, conscious clothing and job opportunities. If you go to some of these markets – Mintra, Ajio – they will not care about the differences of the new age.

The company uses social media influencers on platforms such as Instagram and Pinterest to design and promote interactive marketing, such as live or video marketing.

After raising $ 300 million from the Soft Bank Vision Fund, Ramganidi Shot compares it to the $ 2 billion worth of Elteken Shuto.

The company said in a statement that it is investing in product development, creative purchasing and participation, and a founding team of engineers and creative success managers.

Ramgandy said the company does not promote any details and does not target audiences to brand websites. This is a key part of Shooto’s business model as it generates revenue from clicks and sales. It is already affiliated with Zara, H&M, Damnesh, Urbanic and other brands.

“We are seeing social and creative marketing initiatives gaining momentum in other markets, especially in the US,” said Sam Ash Lilani, managing partner. “Shootto’s focus is on integrating the two approaches to building a youth Indian fashion destination. Their talented leadership team, big vision and unique partnership with top fashion brands provide a solid foundation for success.
