Roads, flights, schools, businesses: Closed and canceled during the Colorado Arctic blast

of Arctic air has arrived In Colorado and much of the American North and West and with it comes various cancellations and shutdowns.

CBS News Colorado does its best to keep Coloradans updated on road, school and business closures, flight cancellations and other important information.

Several roads and highways were closed until Thursday morning. They include:

• I-70 travels east from Silverthorne to the Eisenhower Johnson Memorial Caverns.
• US 6 in both directions Loveland Pass
• US 6 in both directions from Sterling to Nebraska
• US 385 northbound from Holyoke to Julesburg
• CO 113 in both directions from US 138 to Nebraska
• CO 14 in both directions from Alt to Sterling
• CO 14 Rabbit ears in both directions to Walden
• CO 14 Cameron Pass in both directions
• CO 59 in both directions from Yuma to Sedgwick
• CO 61 in both directions from Otis to Sterling
• Wadsworth SB is closed at Wheat Ridge I-70.

Flights

Flights across the country were delayed and canceled, with Denver having the highest combined number of delays and cancellations in the US.

Schools

CBS News Colorado has a comprehensive list of school closings and delayed openings.

Briefly, Denver International School and Goddard School are open, Park County School District RE-2 is on a two-hour delay and Lincoln College of Technology is operating distance learning.

Business

• Evergreen Lake, which opened for ice skating on Tuesday, is closed today due to the cold temperatures.
• The Denver Zoo is closed most of the day Thursday and Friday, but reopens at 5pm on Friday for Denver Lights.
• Ice rinks at Denver International Airport will be closed Thursday.
• Downtown Denver’s rink at Skyline Park will be closed Thursday.
• Outlets at Castle Rock will open late today at noon.
