Supply chain constraints aren’t just hitting the automotive world. Micromobility is feeling the pain.
I reached out to about 20 companies that make electric scooters and bicycles, and most of them told me the same thing: It’s getting harder to get critical parts like motors out of China, and Russia’s war on Ukraine is making supplies like nickel more and more expensive. Difficult to find a source. The result? Many companies are trying to bring at least the final meeting as close as possible to the end consumer.
Watch this space. We may start to see new factories spring up in Europe and North America, boosting some economies while others suffer.

After much back and forth, the JetBlue-Spirit Airlines deal actually happened.

Major U.S. automakers reported earnings this week and the top themes that came up frequently were inflation, supply chain issues, China and EVs.
