STARTERS
Texas Tech and Abilene Christian will finally meet this season after the first scheduled meeting was postponed three weeks ago, with the two set to compete on Tuesday night at Crutcher Scott Field. The two teams were scheduled to play in Lubbock on April 4, but Mother Nature had different plans — it was later decided that the game would be played on May 9 at Rip Griffin Park. The Red Raiders have an 8-1 edge over the Wildcats in the series as they continue the series and are in a regular replay since 2014.

Believe it or not, Texas Tech is more than halfway through its Big 12 conference schedule. The Red Raiders are 8-7 (.533) and are among five teams with a league winning percentage of .500 or better. Texas Tech is three games behind league leader West Virginia in the loss column, but the Mountaineers own the fewest conference games in the Big 12 as they own an 8-4 record. Texas Tech has won four of its five Big 12 series, starting in the top half of the league’s preseason polls, until hosting Baylor last weekend.

The human-generated rankings have the Red Raiders as a top-25 team and the top-ranked team in the Big 12, while being ranked No. 14 in the D1 baseball poll – the first ranking system recognized by the NCAA and the Big 12 Conference. Six of the top 10 RPI teams are from the SEC, and the top 12 team in the final RPI is West Virginia at No. 23. ACU’s trip to Lubbock has been rescheduled
Texas Tech has announced that it will host Abilene Christian on Wednesday, April 5, and Tuesday, May 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Rip Griffin Park. The match was scheduled to be postponed on April 4. Due to inclement weather, Texas Tech and Abilene Christian agreed to postpone the game to another date. Those who continue to own single-game tickets for the April 4 contest will be able to trade those in for the rescheduled May 9 match. All ticket exchanges are valid only if originally purchased through the Texas Tech Ticket Office (excluding third party and season tickets).
