While the global picture of women’s representation in technology is improving, there is still much to be done to achieve gender equality. Deloitte Global predicts that women will make up nearly 33% of the workforce at the largest tech companies by 2022 – an increase of 2 percentage points from last year. Gender differences also prevail in Web3. The whole idea behind Metavas’ open, decentralized model is to create a space for equal opportunity. But female builders and inventors are among the minority in highly male-dominated positions. In fact, art market research firm ArtTactic reports that only 16 percent of NFT sales in 2021 will go to female artists.

How can we promote and advance gender equality in technology and the metaverse and empower women to innovate? For another special episode of ‘Innovation Without Limits’, we sat down with Samsung Electronics America CMO Michelle Crossan-Matos to find out how you can break down bias. Later in episode 37/Next at NFT.NYC, we’ll go behind the scenes for the “Women of Web3” panel highlighting the importance of female representation in Web3.

“Inclusion is not just part of D&I. It is the heart and soul of D&I. And I really hope more companies invest in inclusion and make sure the right policies are in place to support the development of our future leaders. – Samsung Electronics America CMO Michelle Crossan-Matos

“Web3 is a great place because anyone can join. There is no obstacle. If you have an idea or need, Web3 is where you find your tribe. – Christa Kim, contemporary artist

“I don’t want those same people to be left out of the financial system where we get paid and have little investment. Talking about money. On Web 3 we talk about money and finance becomes a woman. – Maggie Love, Co-Founder and Director at W3BCLOUD and Founder at SheFi
