NY Fashion Week comes to Astoria

New York Fashion Week is a spectacular celebration that brings people from all over the world to the city that never sleeps. On Thursday, September 8, Astoria Secret (28-53 Steinway St, Astoria, NY 11103) hosts a special “Boss Babes NYFW Edition” event featuring signature cocktails and photo sessions. Queens residents didn’t have to leave the borough to fill one of the most anticipated weeks in recent memory.

The model and professional photography workshop encouraged brave customers to incorporate lace items into their outfits from 7pm to 12am that evening. Hosted by “model-preneurs” ONYEKA Deborah and Briy Gilgeous, the tantalizing process was carefully curated by Metropolitan Couture Media Group and OMA Boutique. Coming from the success of last Thursday’s “Clothes is Fashion” message, Deborah and Gilgeous both have plans to work together soon in Onyeka on Saturday 10 September 2008.

If adventurous fashion lovers wanted to explore the runways outside their backyards during the busy week, there were other beautiful highlights to be seen. The “Web3 x Runway” show features Rachel Winters DJing in an evening filled with food, live art and a fashion show by designer Florence Blanch at 541 West 25th St. Abundance between Adolescence and Responsibility” respect. Saucy Santana and Koy Leary had an after-party in Brooklyn on September 11th after the TME shows.
