Yo, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, has decided that he no longer wants to work with companies like Adidas and Gap for his fashion ventures.

In a new interview with Bloomberg, the multi-hyphenate shared that it’s time for him to go it alone in the world of style. “It’s time for me to go it alone,” he told the publication. “It’s good. I made the companies money. The companies made me money. We created ideas that changed clothing forever. Like the round jacket, the foam runner, the slides that changed the shoe industry. It’s time to make the new industry. There are no companies standing between me and the audience.”

However, Ye still has a contract with Adidas, maker of sneakers like the Yeezy Boost 350, that expires in 2026. His clothing line with Gap Inc. will end in 2030. “My new baby is Mamas,” he responded. “I guess we just have to parent these 350.”

In June, West called Adidas CEO Casper Rested a “blatant copycat” after sharing a photo of the sportswear company’s $55 Adilette 22 feet, which are similar in color and overall to Ye’s $70 Yeezy Slides, which are made by Adidas.

“Nobody should be in a position where they can steal them and say we’re paying you to keep quiet. Bloomberg. “That kills innovation. That kills innovation. That’s what killed Nikola Tesla.”

He also called out the loophole in several Instagram posts – which have since been deleted – accusing the clothing brand of holding a meeting about the rapper in his absence. In another message, he shared a screenshot of a text chat where Yeezy’s Gap Engineer, who created Gap, is “recording” a Balenciaga T-shirt design for Gap’s large logo T-shirt.

“Every step of my career has been something in my way,” he said. “They made the dream come true, but only without you.”

according to Bloomberg, West Market, wants to open Donda campuses nationwide that will have schools, farms and hostels. Products sold at the campuses will be exclusive to Yeezy’s physical and online stores and designed by Yeezy staff.
