With wild card weekend in the NFL officially in the books and with the divisional round to look forward to, there are plenty of quotes to see what former Virginia Tech football players are up to at the professional level. With so many maroons and oranges scattered around the league, there will continue to be a chance to see more Hokies perform at the next level.

A popular wild card weekend performance
OT Christian Darisau
Minnesota standout offensive lineman Christian Darisau ended his sophomore season as a professional with the Vikings’ 31-24 loss to the Warriors last Sunday afternoon.
In the year Capper on a still successful season at the NFL level.
Next up is a good break for Darrisau and the rest of the 2022 NFC North champions before they focus on defending their division crown and chasing higher aspirations in 2023.

Saturday, January 21
NY Giants at Philadelphia – 8:15 pm ET – FOX
Quarterback Tyrod Taylor and the New York Giants will look to face the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday night as they head south to Philadelphia looking to build on their first playoff win in more than 11 years.
Taylor, a former three-time ACC champion, did not see action during his time with the Hokies last weekend in the Giants’ 31-24 win over the Vikings on Sunday afternoon, but he remains ready to go when. New York was called upon when needed as they sought their first Super Bowl ring since 2012.

Cincinnati at Buffalo – 3 pm – CBS
Fifth-year linebacker Tremaine Edmonds, defensive tackle Tim Settle and the rest of the Buffalo Bills aim to reach the AFC Championship Game for the second time in the past three seasons when the defending AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals come to town for a heavyweight showdown at Highmark Stadium.
Edmonds, a former first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, recorded five total tackles, four of them coming by himself, in the Bills’ narrow 32-29 victory over the Miami Dolphins last Sunday afternoon, and also recorded a tackle for loss. To show why he remains a major contributor in the Bills’ quest for their first Super Bowl berth since 1993.
Sefer, on the other hand, saw the field with 24 defenders in the team’s wild card victory. The first-year member of Buffalo’s front office finished a strong freshman regular season in upstate New York and will continue to serve as a valuable depth piece as the Bills inch closer to the franchise’s first Lombardi Trophy. A story rich in tradition in just a few weeks.
